Ben Whalley
Ben is the Chief Executive Officer at Gaddum, one of Greater Manchester’s oldest charities (established in 1833). In this role, he leads the charity’s vision for every individual and community to have equitable health, wealth and self.
A qualified and registered social worker, Ben has extensive experience across mental health, housing, multiple and complex needs, and HIV prevention, having worked in local, regional, and national charities. His leadership roles extend beyond Gaddum, where he serves as Chair of the Board at the Brunswick Centre, trustee at Salford CVS and on the Board of Governors for Pennine Care Foundation NHS Trust (for partnerships).
Ben holds a Level 7 ILM qualification in Strategic Leadership and is also aqualified trainer and Social Work Practice Educator. His specific areas of expertise include safe guarding, coproduction, policy development, charity compliance and governance, and organisational development.
Believing that collaboration leads to the most powerful and innovative outcomes, Ben is guided by the mantra, “no decision about me, without me,” and is dedicated to making sure there are equal partnerships with communities – shaping the solutions to issues that affect them.
