The role of the VCFSE sector in Greater Manchester
This paper shares more about the role of the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Greater Manchester in order to help colleagues in the public sector understand the potential role/s that our sector could have in delivering the commitments and outcomes of the Greater Manchester strategy.
It builds on the VCSE Policy Position Paper published in 2020, which aimed to complement public sector policy development in Greater Manchester.
The VCFSE sector represents the fabric of society, communities of locality, identity, experience and interest. We are able to offer our ability to engage, inform, consult, support and mobilise resident sand communities, our knowledge of the barriers to attaining equality, our expertise in social and economic innovation and our resources, such as volunteers and funding which we can align with other sectors resource to achieve common goals.
