John Hannen

John is the CEO of GMCVO, an organisation seeking to build a more inclusive economy in Greater Manchester. We are a financial intermediary, directly lending to social enterprises and trading charities in order to build their capacity to bring about social change and increased levels of community ownership.

We host GM=EqAl the GM Equalities Alliance and support networking across a range of equality agendas and recently launched BASE, a new independent organisation that supports social investment in BAME led organisations.

We also support the GM Funders Forum, GM Third Sector Research Network, support innovation in community development approaches and develop new approaches to help those furthest from employment find work. John is a co-Chair of the Inclusive Economy sub-group of the Leadership Group.
