VCSE representative for new Integrated Care Board announced
We are pleased to announce that Leigh Vallance, Chief Executive of Bolton Hospice is the VCSE representative sitting on the newly formed Integrated Care Board in Greater Manchester. Following a formal recruitment Leigh was nominated by the GM VCSE Leadership Group on behalf of the VCSE sector and has been accepted to the board as an Ordinary member of the board with full voting rights.
Leigh has been the Chief Executive of Bolton Hospice since 2012 and has a total of 24 years’ experience as a Charity CEO, working for a range of large, medium and small organizations at a national, regional and local level, tackling issues ranging from domestic violence, homelessness, mental health, learning disabilities, coalfield and rural regeneration, looked after children, rare health conditions, special needs and autism.
Leigh has a BA Hons in Sociology, a post graduate certificate in Charity Sector Management & Leadership and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Health Care by the University of Bolton in recognition of her outstanding contribution to health and social care over her 40 year career. She is a Trustee of Bury & Bolton Citizens Advice, a Governor at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and a local Secondary School Governor, as well as currently being the Chair of the Greater Manchester Hospices Group.
