GM VCSE Leadership Group response to Florence House assault

The incident at a Manchester GP surgery on Friday 17th September is deeply shocking. Our thoughts are with staff and their families at the Florence House Medical Practice. The VCSE Leadership Group believe that all NHS and VCSE staff and volunteers should be safe from harm in the workplace. As we all try to cope with the strains of these unprecedented times, we must remember that violence and aggression towards others, especially those trying to help others, is unacceptable. We know that the pressures on our health and social care system and the economic impact of the pandemic are harming people. Finding ways to ensure that all, as a minimum, have equal access to healthcare is crucial. We, alongside NHS and partner agency colleagues, will continue to work to improve access, care and outcomes for our citizens.
