Call for VCSE representatives to sit on GM Integrated Care System Boards
The GM VCSE Leadership Group are looking for dynamic strategic focused leaders from the VCSE sector in Greater Manchester (GM) to sit on three new boards set up to govern health and social care across GM.
The GM VCSE Leadership Group are looking for dynamic strategic focused leaders from the VCSE sector in Greater Manchester (GM) to sit on three new boards set up to govern health and social care across GM. These new boards are being created as part of the re-organisation of NHS structures on an Integrated Care System (ICS) basis. As key partners in the work being undertaken across GM, it has been agreed that representatives from the VCSE sector will sit on the following governing structures:
- Joint Planning and Delivery Committee (JPDC). This a Greater Manchester specific body. It replaces the Partnership Executive Board and the Joint Commissioning Board. It will ensure/oversee joined up service planning and delivery between the Greater Manchester enabling programmes, locality programmes (Local Authority and health), Collaborative programmes and adjacent programmes (e.g., Mayoral office, Health Innovation Manchester, Marmot City Region etc.)
- Integrated Care Board (ICB). This is a mandatory body for all Integrated Care Systems. It will be a small, focused body, in place to deliver the legal national requirements and functions including allocation of, and accounting for NHS resource; and fulfilling primary care and specialised commissioning functions
- Integrated Care Partnership (ICP). This is also a mandatory body for all Integrated Care Systems. It will be a larger grouping of representatives and will be central to setting priorities and preserving the culture and ambitions of Greater Manchester devolution. This replaces the current Health and Social Care Board
These roles will enable the VCSE sector to influence (and challenge) the decisions made at the highest points of governance for health and social care provision in GM. More detail about the roles and the governance structures involved can be found in the Expression of Interest Form below.

Please note that you are welcome to apply for more than one role in your application, however you are unlikely to be offered a place on more than one board. Panel and appointments will be confirmed in the week commencing 8th November.
